SPANISH CIVIL WAR
In 1936 General Francios Franco lead a coup against the republican goverment. This started the Spnish civil War (1936 - 1939)
Spanish population is divided in two areas :
- Republicans support the Republic
- Nationalst support Franco.
In 1939 Franco won the war a took control of Spain. It was a hoorible war full of bloody battles, deaths and many people went to exile.
There were huge economic loses.
SECOND SPANISH REPUBLIC
In 1931 the second Spanish republic is proclaimed.
In 1931 a new constitution was approved, it included :
- The right to vote for women
- Separation of church and state
- Creation of autonomous regions
The republican goverment did many reforms, such as: land, education and labour ( working conditions)
This reforms were not accepted by everyone and violent conflitcs took place.
